INFORMATION ON WORKSHOPS

All workshops are run between 10.00am and 4.00pm unless otherwise stated.

It is expected that all students arrive suitably dressed to carry out practical work, salon wear is recommended.  It is a health and safety requirement that students wear flat shoes.  Hair must be secured away from the face, jewellery must be removed apart from a wedding band, a small pair of stud earring is acceptable and watches must be removed.

Waxing Workshop – Shambhala Training Centre Certificate

You will learn techniques in warm waxing to remove hair from legs, bikini line, underarm and face.  There are no assignments or case studies to complete.  You should check with your own insurance company if you can get insurance cover with this certificate.  It is recommended that you extend this workshop to a VTCT course if you intend to work on clients on a regular basis.  Please ask for details of VTCT courses.

Manicure Workshop – Shambhala Training Centre Certificate

You will learn how to carry out a full manicure including:

Health & safety, contraindications, file and shape, cuticle work, hand and arm massage, painting and aftercare advice.

There are no assignments or case studies to complete.  You should check with your own insurance company if you can get insurance cover with this certificate.  It is recommended that you extend this workshop to a VTCT course if you intend to work on clients on a regular basis.  Please ask for details of VTCT courses.

Pedicure Workshop – Shambhala Training Centre Certificate

You will learn how to carry out a full pedicure including:

Health & safety, contraindications, file and shape, cuticle work, foot and leg massage, painting and aftercare advice.

Eye Treatments Workshop – Shambhala Training Centre Certificate

You will learn how to carry out lash and brow tinting and eyebrow shaping,

health & safety requirements, contraindications and aftercare advice.

Shambhala Hot Stone Massage – Shambhala Training Centre Certificate

Shambhala Hot Stone Massage works on the circulatory, lymphatic, muscular/skeletal, skin and nervous systems.  You will learn how to massage with the stones to enable you to add these techniques to your massage treatments.  You will cover back, back of leg, front of leg and base of the foot, arm and palm of the hand.

Injury Prevention Massage (IPM)

Protect yourself from RSI in your work.  More efective treatments, offer something new and stand out from your competition.  IPM can veiwed as a bolt on CPD training that complements most other forms of therapy.  Introduces therapists to proper body awareness and mechanics to protect backs and necks from injury.  Introduces treatment alternatives to the use of hands for delivering tradiitional massage strokes. 

Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Therapuetic Massage

These workshops are designed for qualified therapists who wish to update their knowledge of various massage techniques.  Those students who do not hold a current qualification in aromatherapy may only use pre-blended oils.  Proof of certification will be required.
